Wish more people would know of this establishment. Food is very good and replicates Cantonese cooking found in Boston and New York.

First time trying this local place out, pretty impressed. There are only two good places in Inverness area supposedly, this being one of them. Didn’t disappoint. I would give them an 8/10. I have had better, but also have had very worse. Got some basic items to try this time. Will have to explore the menu out a bit more next time. Food tasted like good quality takeout, the employees were prompt and polite. Placed my order online, they called me when I arrived in the parking lot just as the time-estimate for pickup was—so they made the order in great timing, no false guess-timate or waiting around. Prices were very fair, food was pretty good, I think I just need to try a couple more items for me to really be sold on this place. The Szechuan beef was the best thing ordered, veggies mixed in were great texture-wise and the sauce was AMAZING. I will have to try the chicken version of it next time. Only suggestion for the restaurant would be for the chicken fried rice to have the veggies tossed or cooked with the rice/chicken longer so they absorb the flavor. The chicken and rice tasted like boiled chicken, topped with cooked peas/carrots. Still pretty good though. Consistency of the lo mein was very good. The flavor I couldn’t put my finger on. Maybe a slight peanut-taste? Not bothered, just couldn’t figure it out. The egg roll and the spring rolls I got were fine. Good textures and flavors as anticipated. Always good choices as apps. Will come back again, wonderful service. Excited to explore the menu. Thank you First Taste for the great experience!

Fresh and delicious food! When I walked in the woman was making fresh wontons! The son was adorable and read me stories from a book while I waited for my order. Of course I ordered the mixed egg drop and wonton soup. I also had the Singapore Mei Fun noodles, King Pao chicken, and steamed dumplings. The food was excellent. They definitely have a regular customer in me!

We placed an order online that was ready before the scheduled pick-up time, and the staff greeted me with warmth and courtesy. The food was outstanding, perfectly heated and flavored, with each dish expertly cooked. This contrasts with my last online order from another Chinese restaurant, which took 30 minutes to prepare, causing inconvenience during my work lunch break, even though the food was served hot. So please this experience was highly satisfying, and I anticipate my next visit.

Been wanting to find some good Chinese take out in the area and found this place from Google. At first glance, I wasn't sure they were open. The shopping center only has a couple open stores as it seems the anchor stores have left . Luckily, they were open and friendly enough. There were two of us and we both got the lunch special. One was shrimp and broccoli, the other one was beef and garlic sauce. The shrimp was good, and decent size, 5 total. The beef was soft and had only one or two chewy pieces. Better than most take aways. The main issue was both were kind of dry, with hardly any sauce. The special comes with a can of soda as well, but we had to ask for it and was directed to a cooler with 3 choices. Coke, Sprite, or orange. No diet soda. The rice is the yellow pork fried style, and was fresh. If in the area, maybe would try again and see if it gets any better, but wouldn't make a special trip. You can eat inside if you like, but the seating is limited to a couple tables like you'd expect from similar places and really designed for carty out.

Location

Welcome to the culinary haven of First Taste Chinese Restaurant, located at 1466 US-41, Inverness, FL. This charming establishment has quickly become a standout choice among locals and visitors alike, earning praise for its dedication to authentic Cantonese cooking. If you find yourself craving genuine Chinese flavors that transport you to the bustling streets of Boston or New York, First Taste is the place to be.

Customers rave about the freshness and quality of the dishes served here. For instance, Karol Navickas notes that the food replicates the rich flavors of traditional Cantonese cuisine that are often hard to find outside major cities. From the moment you step inside, the inviting atmosphere and the sight of freshly made wontons being prepared add to the excitement of the experience. Gretchen Cothron's delightful encounter with the freshly crafted wontons is indicative of the restaurant's commitment to quality and freshness.

The menu at First Taste boasts a variety of options, catering to all palates. Bordeaux Crouse, during his visit, highlighted the exceptional Szechuan beef—a dish that perfectly blends tender meat with vibrant vegetables and an outstanding sauce that leaves a lasting impression. If you’re in the mood for comfort, the mixed egg drop and wonton soup offers a delightful balance of flavors and textures, as attested by satisfied customers. However, the only critique noted was regarding the chicken fried rice, which sometimes lacks the depth of flavor one might desire. A bit more care in sautéing the vegetables could elevate this dish to new heights.

First Taste isn’t just about great food; it's also about service. Jessica remarked on the warmth and efficiency of the staff, who prepared her order ahead of schedule, ensuring a satisfying dining experience without the inconvenience of long waits. The unobtrusive service combined with a cozy atmosphere makes it an ideal spot for takeout or a casual dine-in. Families and friends can comfortably enjoy their meals here, although seating is limited, which is typical for many takeout-centric restaurants.

The takeout experience is further enhanced by swift online ordering, allowing you to savor the cooking without the wait. Chris W. James appreciated the lunch special of shrimp and broccoli, despite wishing for a touch more sauce. This highlights an area where First Taste can enhance their offerings and keep customers excited about returning for more. With such potential for growth, it’s clear that they are on the right track.

In conclusion, First Taste Chinese Restaurant is carving out a niche in Inverness as a reliable choice for delicious Chinese cuisine. With a blend of fresh ingredients, friendly service, and room for menu exploration, it promises a delightful adventure for anyone who walks through its doors. Next time you find yourself in the area, I highly recommend exploring the delights of First Taste—you won't be disappointed!
